Using MELCloud Home with Alexa

MMSP instruction - Do not switch yet!

Important for customers claiming RHI

MMSP (or Metering and Monitoring Service Package) is an add on to the Domestic RHI, an extra incentive used to monitor the efficiency of a heat pump based heating systems. The financial support could have been given over a 7-year period to support the provision of the system, and there are several points of criteria that must be met before you can apply for MMSP. This scheme is administered by OFGEM and is a UK government scheme.

The MMSP consists of electricity meters, temperature sensors, a monitoring and communication system, and a high specification heat meter. The meter must be able to take readings at least once every 2 minutes. 

As we transition our app to the new system, we want to ensure that users claiming RHI continue to receive their financial support without interruption. While we are confident that you can still access your payments through the current MELCloud App, we recommend holding off on switching to MELCloud Home for now to avoid any potential data loss during the migration process.

Switching from the original MELCloud App to the new MELCloud Home App involves a few additional steps. Please be aware that this process requires deleting your product from the MELCloud App account and setting up a new MELCloud Home login and connection.

At this stage, old data cannot be transferred. If retaining this information is important to you, we recommend staying on the current app until we release our step-by-step guide to help you through the transition.
