As part of a large extension project, Mr and Mrs Venga wanted to incorporate a more efficient heating, cooling and hot water system, that removed the need for fossil fuels, reduced their carbon footprint and kept their home comfortable all year round. The extension lets in lots of natural light which could make it too hot in summer and too cold in winter.
The couple were looking for a highly efficient, low carbon and comfortable heating and air conditioning system that was quiet, easy to control and maintained the minimalist look for the new open plan living space. They also wanted something stylish that would match the new extension and provide cooling in the summer and heating in the winter.
To cool the extension, two M Series MSZ-LN wall mounted units were used to condition and maintain comfort and for heating, an 11.2kW Ecodan air source heat pump served an underfloor heating system down stairs, while i-Life2 Slim fan assisted radiators heated the upstairs. The whole system is controlled via the MELCloud smartphone compatible app.
The house now maintains the perfect temperature all year round. Lovely and warm in the winter and cool and comfortable in the summer. The added bonus being that the systems look great; especially the MSZ-LN air conditioning units because we were able to choose a colour that matched our décor.
