History
Clydesdale Housing Association was set up in 1987 by a voluntary committee, with a mission to combat the poor condition of houses in Clydesdale, and the shortage of rented housing.
The Goal
The owners are looking for a replacement to their old inefficient electric storage heating that would reduce fuel costs for tenants, helping to lift them out of fuel poverty.
Air Source Heat Pumps vs Quantum Storage Heating
During the survey process, it became obvious that the particular mix of properties being targeted were better suited to the installation of versatile air source heat pumps rather than Quantum storage heating as initially intended.

Ecodan air source heat pumps from Mitsubishi Electric were chosen as an appropriate green energy efficient heating solution. Tenants benefited from eco friendly renewable heating with modern levels of comfort, while making huge fuel savings.
Bespoke Models
The heat pumps, which have been installed in 33 properties to date, are delivering a variety of heat pump models to different housing types across the association based on each properties energy requirements.

Ecodan R32 FTC6 Monobloc: Pre-plumbed slimline cylinders come complete with integrated hydraulic components and advance controls. They are designed to minimise floor space and footprint whilst still offering optimum performance.
